It is the most common question at our consults, and the studios that always answer “extensions” are answering their revenue, not your face. Here is how we actually decide, client by client.
What each treatment really does
A lash lift works with what you have: your natural lashes are curled from the root over a silicone shield and tinted dark. Nothing is added. The effect is your own lashes at their absolute best — more open, more visible, but the same length and count.
Extensions — classic, hybrid or volume — add material. Length, curl and density become design choices rather than genetics. The transformation is bigger; so is the commitment.

Choose a lash lift if…
- Your natural lashes are reasonably long but straight or downward-pointing
- You swim daily, travel constantly or simply refuse maintenance
- Your budget is closer to RM100 a month than RM300
- You want “fresh and rested”, not “made up”
Choose extensions if…
- Your natural lashes are short or sparse — a lift cannot add what is not there
- You wear eye makeup most days and would happily retire your mascara
- A defined look for photos, events or daily confidence matters to you
- You can commit to the infill rhythm and the nightly cleanse
The honest asterisks
Two things studios rarely volunteer. First: a lift on very short lashes gives a modest result — we will tell you at the consult rather than take your money and let the mirror break the news. Second: extensions worn back-to-back for years without breaks can tire the natural lashes. Ours get a health check at every infill, and when we recommend a rest, we mean it.
