About BakerPlus
We opened with six beds, one rule — never rush an eye — and a belief that Kuala Lumpur deserved a lash studio that treats retention as a promise, not a slogan.
Built by artists, not investors
BakerPlus began in 2017 as a two-bed room above a Jalan Telawi café, run by two lash artists who kept turning away work rather than double-book. The waiting list did the marketing. In 2021 we moved into our current studio in Bangsar Village II and grew the team the only way we trust: slowly.
Every artist here completed our two-year internal apprenticeship — a year on mannequin heads and supervised model sets before their first solo client. Most studios train in weeks. We think eyes deserve better.
Today six artists serve a book of around 900 regular clients. We still turn away work rather than double-book, and we still consider a client who returns every three weeks for years the only metric that matters.
Designed for ninety still minutes
Lash work asks you to lie still with your eyes closed for up to two and a half hours, so the room matters. Ours runs quiet: warm indirect light, beds with proper neck support, blankets against the air-conditioning, and a strict no-speakerphone policy for staff and guests alike.
Hygiene is the part you cannot see, so we make it visible. Tools are sealed per client and opened in front of you; tweezers cycle through a hospital-grade autoclave between appointments; gel pads and brushes are single-use, always.
Four working principles
- Lash health outranks revenueIf your natural lashes need a break, we say so and lose the booking. Clients tend to remember.
- Mapping is not optionalNo set begins until you have approved a drawn map of lengths and curls against your eye shape.
- Train slow, hire slowerTwo years of apprenticeship before a solo client. It limits our growth and defines our standard.
- Prices with nothing hiddenThe number on the price list is the number at the till. Consults, patch tests and aftercare kits included.
Come see the room for yourself
