Anyone who has walked from an air-conditioned office into a KL afternoon knows what humidity does to groomed brows: the gel gives up, the hairs spring back, and by 2pm you are back to square one. Lamination exists for exactly this problem.
What lamination actually is
Think of it as a keratin treatment for brow hairs. A gentle setting lotion temporarily relaxes each hair's internal structure, your artist brushes the hairs into their best direction — usually up and slightly outward — and a second lotion fixes them there. The hairs stay obedient for six to eight weeks, humidity or not.
The 45 minutes, step by step
- Mapping (10 min). We study your growth pattern and bone structure, and agree on the shape before any product opens.
- Lifting lotion (8–10 min). Applied with the brows brushed into position, timed to your hair's thickness — fine hairs get less.
- Setting lotion (8 min). Locks the new direction in place.
- Tint (5–10 min). Mixed to your hair colour; it also reveals the fine pale hairs at the edges that make brows look fuller.
- Shape and finish. Wax and tweezers where needed, then a keratin serum to feed the hairs we just worked.
How to prepare
- Stop retinol and exfoliating acids near the brows three days before
- Arrive with bare brows — no pencil, gel or powder
- Mention eczema, dermatitis or very reactive skin when booking; we will patch test 48 hours ahead
- Do not tweeze or wax for two weeks before — we need the fine hairs to work with
The two mistakes that shorten results
Mistake one: getting them wet on day one. The set continues to cure for 24 hours. Water in that window softens the hold, and steam is worse. Book your lamination after your gym day, not before.
Mistake two: skipping the morning brush. Laminated hairs hold direction, but sleep still flattens them. Ten seconds with the spoolie we give you restores the shape — it is the entire daily routine.
Lamination versus microblading
They solve different problems. Lamination works with hair you already have; microblading tattoos strokes where hair is missing. If your brows are dense but unruly, lamination alone transforms them. If there are true gaps, lamination plus tint often surprises people — and if not, we will say so rather than sell you a treatment we do not offer.
The full treatment — lamination, tint, wax and shaping — is a single 45-minute visit, priced on our brow lamination page.
